About Friends of McIntosh

Since its inception, the Friends of McIntosh Reserve (FOMR) have been dedicated to promoting passive recreational use of the park while preserving the historical significance of the Muscogee (Creek) ancestral land, the life of Chief William McIntosh, and advocating for the protection of native plant and animal habitats. FOMR engages the Carroll County community through monthly Walk N’ Talk programs which highlight the Reserve’s rich cultural heritage and unique ecological features. In partnership with organizations such as Birds Georgia, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Trust for Public Land, the University of West Georgia, and the Department of Natural Resources, FOMR actively supports the park’s development as an essential part of the Chattahoochee River Corridor. In addition to educational programs, FOMR promotes McIntosh Reserve by participating in local festivals, community events, and initiatives sponsored by Carroll County Parks. We are committed to preserving the natural integrity of the park while supporting Carroll County in conservation-focused priorities.

Our Goals

Membership
Annual Dues $10
An annual membership with the Friends of McIntosh Reserve supports the organization’s educational and advocacy efforts led by its members and Board. As a member, you're invited to take part in monthly Round Table discussions, contribute to program planning and implementation, and engage in promotional and advocacy efforts alongside partner organizations. Membership dues also help offset the costs of programs led by specialized instructors, making these opportunities more accessible to the community.
Each January, during our Membership Drive, we ask members to renew their membership by updating their contact information and paying the $10 dues. This helps us stay in touch sharing announcements and upcoming event details. We welcome and appreciate donations of any amount above the basic dues as a tax exempt donation to further our work as a non-profit organization. Let us know if you have any questions about donating, or need a donation receipt.
